A young child in his anarchic play
with the world below his feet,
gravity is his only rule.
The dark tide of age approaches.
Under a robe of velvet, blackwashing influence encroaches
and exiles the young child from his center of inner peace
in exchange for the fool's gold of sociality.

Kicked through the densely populated town,
the teenager fakes a confident walk as if no sanction need be found,
but the strut is no more than a guided limp
which was grudgingly withstood until I caught a glimpse
when a symphony of shadows sang to me upon a wall, my mission established by their deep lupine call.
My gait returns as I stampede down the road
to the secluded ruined mansion I will usurp as my home.

I've broken stained glass of illusion,
torched my internal drapes,
found a morbid paradise in my castle of seclusion,
become the gargoyle of my haven of escape.
The ecstasy of salvation brings tears to my eyes
as I lurch upon the cupola in the violet skies.
Fulfilled with a maternal home of the endless night,
I am the gargoyle of my haunted paradise.
