13 AM I'm jolted from a sweaty slumber.
My screaming eyes see black,
their bloodshot veins - internal thunder.
My cause of panic remains unknown -
masked by the looming maniac that grows.

I fall back into the cemetery of my bed,
my head retains its role as the silent willow encroaching on death,
sinking in the ground to be remembered as a sinkhole
as my head with a diminishing brain sinks into its pillow.

No comfort is found by the anesthetic creep of sleep.
Lullabies sing of devils' eyes and I count mutilated sheep.
My mind remains in an influensic rage,
as fear lessens none in the headless chicken's rampage.

The crash of a medieval bell aids the spine-clutch of the spell,
my throat constricts like settling lead,
as echoes like a wall of mirrors sustain the fright in my head.

There's no more deathly feeling that I find than silence in my room and pandemonium in my mind.
